On the first day of your adventure, you'll start your journey at Machame Gate, situated at an elevation of 1830 meters (6000 feet) above sea level. The hike begins through lush rainforests, with an initial gentle ascent. The path is well-marked and surrounded by diverse flora and fauna native to this region. As you hike further, you'll gradually gain altitude and experience changes in the vegetation around you. After approximately 5 to 7 hours of walking, covering a distance of 5.5 kilometers (3.5 miles), you'll arrive at Machame Huts, situated at 3030 meters (9940 feet). This will be your first overnight campsite. The huts provide basic accommodation and are surrounded by breathtaking views of the landscape.

Waking up to the fresh mountain air, you'll continue your expedition towards New Shira Camp. Today's hike involves a hike through the moorland zone, offering stunning panoramas of the Shira Plateau. The ascent is less steep compared to the previous day, and you'll cover a distance of 5.5 kilometers (3.5 miles) over 4 to 6 hours. Reaching New Shira Camp, situated at 3850 meters (12630 feet), you'll experience a sense of accomplishment. The campsite is located on a vast plateau, giving you ample space to explore and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

You'll ascend approximately 640 meters (2105 feet) to reach Barafu Huts at an elevation of 4680 meters (15360 feet). This will be your last campsite before the summit push, so it's essential to rest, hydrate, and mentally prepare for the challenging ascent ahead.

Reaching Stella Point, you'll witness a breathtaking sunrise over the vast African plains. From here, you'll continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro, at 5895 meters (19340 feet). Standing at the "Roof of Africa" is a truly awe-inspiring moment and a testament to your perseverance. After taking in the well-earned victory, you'll begin your descent via the Mweka Route. You can choose to spend the night at Millennium Camp, situated at 3820 meters (12530 feet), or continue further down to Mweka Hut for a lower altitude campsite.
