Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

After breakfast, you'll depart for Kilimanjaro National Park gate. The journey begins through the lush and vibrant rainforest of the Machame Route. As you ascend through the forest, you'll hear the calls of exotic wildlife and be surrounded by the rich flora. The hike takes about 6-7 hours, and you'll reach Machame Camp, your first campsite, at approximately 3,000 meters (9,842 feet) above sea level. Here, you'll settle into your tents for the night, surrounded by the tranquil sounds of nature.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

The morning starts with a hearty breakfast to fuel your trek. Today's route will take you through the moorland, where you'll experience changing landscapes and breathtaking views of Kibo Peak and Mount Meru. As you ascend to Shira Camp at approximately 3,840 meters (12,598 feet), the terrain becomes more rugged and captivating. The trek will take around 5-6 hours, and you'll have ample opportunities to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the region. At Shira Camp, you'll witness a stunning sunset over the Great Rift Valley before settling in for the night.

Day 3: :Shira Camp to Barranco Camp

Your journey continues with a gradual ascent towards the Lava Tower (4,630 meters/15,190 feet), where you'll be rewarded with remarkable panoramic views. After a break at the Lava Tower to acclimate, you'll descend to Barranco Camp at approximately 3,950 meters (12,959 feet). The trek will take you through the distinct landscape of the Barranco Wall, a challenging yet thrilling section of the climb. Arriving at Barranco Camp, you'll be greeted by the breathtaking scenery and spend the night amidst the natural wonders.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Today, you'll conquer the Barranco Wall with the support of your experienced guides. The ascent will be rewarded with exceptional vistas of the surrounding mountains and valleys. As you traverse through the Karanga Valley, the landscape will change, and you'll eventually ascend to Karanga Camp at approximately 4,200 meters (13,779 feet). This segment takes about 4-5 hours, and at the campsite, you'll be able to rest and savor the beauty of the high-altitude wilderness.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Embark on a challenging hike through rocky and barren terrain, ascending towards Barafu Camp at approximately 4,600 meters (15,092 feet). The trek will take about 3-4 hours, and at Barafu Camp, you'll rest, hydrate, and mentally prepare for the ultimate ascent

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Today is the day you've been working towards รขโ‚ฌโ€œ the summit attempt. You'll wake up in the middle of the night, and under the shimmering stars, start your ascent to the summit of Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet). The climb will be challenging, but the sense of achievement and the breathtaking sunrise over the African plains will make it all worthwhile. After spending some time at the summit, you'll begin your descent back to Barafu Camp for a short rest and brunch. Following that, you'll continue your descent to Mweka Camp, located at approximately 3,100 meters (10,171 feet) above sea level. This will be your final overnight on the mountain, and you'll reflect on your remarkable achievement.

Say goodbye to your trekking crew and transfer back to your hotel in Moshi, where you can celebrate your accomplishment and share stories with fellow trekkers.
