In the morning, we'll pick you up from your Moshi hotel for the Kilimanjaro trek. A 45-minute drive leads through Marangu Village to Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. While waiting for permits, witness crews preparing for the journey. Enjoy the beautiful rainforest scenery and your guide's insights into local flora, fauna, and wildlife. The trail can be muddy and slippery at lower elevations, so gaiters and trekking poles are highly recommended. Trek distance: 7km / 4-5 hours. Terrain: Rainforest. After a restful night and a hearty breakfast, we leave the rainforest behind and ascend through heathland, seeking giant lobelias and groundsels. The trail leads to open moorlands, where small shrubs dominate. Halfway, we stop for lunch with stunning views of Mawenzi. By late afternoon, we reach Horombo Huts, below the impressive Kibo Summit viewpoint, as temperatures begin to drop.
