Day 3 : From Shira Caves to Barranco Camp

Today's climb takes you across high moorland, providing a change in the landscape. You'll travel on the southwest side of Kilimanjaro, passing beneath the Lava Tower and the Western Breach's final section. Your destination is Barranco Camp (3900 m), where you'll spend the night. Following the mountaineering principle of 'walk high, sleep low,' you've aided your body's acclimatization to avoid altitude sickness.

While it's not a technical climb, you'll need to navigate rocks. Passing underneath the Heim and Kersten glaciers, you'll head towards the Karanga Valley (4000 m) for lunch. Afterward, traverse arid land towards Barafu Camp (4600 m). You'll have the entire afternoon to rest before the final ascent towards the summit
