Here, you will meet your guide, who will provide a briefing on your upcoming trek and conduct an equipment check to ensure you have all the necessary gear. If any items are missing, they can be rented on this day. Enjoy your stay at the hotel and prepare for the adventure ahead. Lunch and dinner are not included, and you have the option to dine at the hotel or explore local restaurants in Moshi.

Day 1 : Marangu Gate Trek to Mandara Hut

After an early breakfast, you will depart from Moshi at 8 AM and drive for approximately 45 minutes to Marangu Gate. Upon arrival, you will complete the necessary registration with the Kilimanjaro National Park authorities and begin your trek around 10:30 AM. The trail takes you through the lush rainforest, where you will encounter towering Eucalyptus trees, diverse birdlife, and playful Colobus monkeys. It can be wet and muddy, so trekking poles and gaiters are recommended. Enjoy a packed lunch along the way, and reach Mandara Hut in the afternoon (2-3 PM). Unpack, rest, and savor a cup of tea or coffee. You can also take a 15-minute side trip to Maundi Crater for scenic views of Northern Tanzania and Kenya. Dinner will be served at around 7 PM, and bathroom facilities with running water are available at the hut.

Day 2 : From Mandara Hut Trekking up to Horombo Hut

Start your day with a 7:30 AM breakfast, then prepare for the trek to Horombo Hut. Depart around 8:30 AM and trek through rainforest glades for about an hour before ascending through the heath land zone. Keep an eye out for impressive giant lobelias and groundsels along the way. Enjoy a packed lunch during the trek, and marvel at the breathtaking views of Mawenzi. Reach Horombo Hut by 3 PM, where you will have a clear sight of Kibo summit. Rest, unpack, and prepare for dinner. Bathroom facilities with running water are available. This is a crucial stage for acclimatization, and you have the option to spend an extra day at Horombo or take a trek to a base camp below Mawenzi.

Day 3 : Acclimatization Trek to Zebra Rocks, Back to Horombo Hut

After breakfast, embarks on an acclimatization trek to Zebra Rocks, situated at 4,020 meters. The trek takes about 4 hours, and you will witness the unique black and white striped rock formation. Return to Horombo Hut for a warm lunch, and spend the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the next day's ascent. Focus on acclimatizing to the altitude and listen to your body's signs. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 4 : Trek From Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Prepare for a long and challenging day as you trek from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut. Choose the lower left-hand route, which is easier and slightly shorter. Pass the last water point at 4,130 meters and cross the barren plateau known as the "saddle" that connects Kibo and Mawenzi. Arrive at Kibo Hut, located at 4,700 meters, in about 5-6 hours. Enjoy an early dinner and rest, as the night will be short. Make sure to prepare all necessary gear for the summit attempt. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included

Day 5 : Start Trekking from Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak

Descend to Horombo Hut Begin your summit ascent around midnight, aiming to reach Uhuru Peak shortly after sunrise. The trek is long and demanding, passing through the Hans Meyer Cave and ascending steep scree or snow. As the sun rises, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views and reach Gilman's Point on the crater rim at 5,861 meters. Continue for another 1-2 hours along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters. Celebrate your accomplishment, take photos, and then descend to Kibo Hut for a warm meal. After a short rest, continue descending to Horombo Hut, where you will have dinner and spend the night. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.

Day 6 : Descend trek from Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Moshi

On the final day of your trek descends through the moorland to Mandara Hut. Enjoy a warm lunch there before continuing your descent through the lush forest. Exercise caution as the trail can be slippery. After approximately 6 hours of trekking, you will arrive at Marangu Gate. Bid farewell to your mountain guides and receive your certificates. Our vehicles will be waiting to transport you back to your hotel in Moshi, where you can enjoy a warm shower and celebrate your successful Kilimanjaro summit. Breakfast and lunch are included
