    Day 2  :  rongai gate to simba camp first trekking day


    Today's trek spans 5 hours and approximately 8 kilometers through the Montane Forest. Beginning at Marangu Park Gate, a 3-hour transport leads to the Rongai gate (1,950 m). Keep an eye out for colobus monkeys as you pass cypress plantations. Reach rongai Cave camp (2,600 m) to find your dedicated porters, tents ready, and perhaps a surprise treat of popcorn and a hot drink. Enjoy a refreshing wash, change into dry clothes, and brace for chilly mountain nights. Your overnight stay at simba cave camp includes all meals.

    Day 3  :  simba camp to kikelewa camp to kilimanjaro trekking


    On Day 3, trek for 6-7 hours through the moorland vegetation, passing through heather-covered landscapes. Stop for lunch at the simba Cave Camp (3,450 m), then continue to the Third Cave Camp (3,600 m), also known as Kikelelwa Cave. At the camp, enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee, snacks, and a delicious meal prepared by the porters. Settle in for the night in the valley below the saddle, surrounded by small caves. Get a good night's sleep to prepare for the cold nights ahead.

    Day 4  :  trek from kikelewa camp to mawenzi tarn


    Trekking time: 3-4 hours Distance: Approx. 6 km Vegetation type: Moorland Early breakfast at Kikelelwa Cave. Day 4 begins with a moderate and easy slope as you ascend towards Mawenzi Tarn Camp at 4,330 m. The landscape changes as you approach the pass, with the peak of Mawenzi becoming more prominent. Hot lunch will be served upon arrival at the camp, followed by some rest and exploration of the area. Take advantage of the afternoon to walk around the ridges and towers for stunning views of Kibo. For great acclimatization and breathtaking views of Mawenzi, this is the perfect place. End your day with a spectacular sunset from the campsite and dinner. Overnight at Mawenzi Tarn Camp.

    Day 5  :  mawenzi tarn camp trek up to kibo hut


    Trek for 4-5 hours, covering about 9 km through the alpine desert with sparse grasses and occasional everlasting flowers. Join the Marangu route at the saddle, enjoy lunch at Kibo Hut, rest, and prepare for your final summit ascent. Your guide will brief you on the route and necessities. Get a good night's rest and be ready for the ultimate adventure. Overnight at Kibo Hut.

    Day 6  :  summit attempt kibo hut to uhuru peak to horombo hut


    On the summit day of the Rongai Route, you'll embark on an 8-hour trek to Uhuru Peak followed by a 6-hour descent to Horombo Camp, navigating rocky and snowy terrain with distances of 6 km up and 21 km down, commencing your journey at 23:00-23:30, fueled by biscuits and tea, passing notable landmarks like Gillman's Point and Stella Point along the way, capturing precious moments at the summit, returning for lunch at Kibo Hut, and concluding your day at Horombo Camp where you can relax and enjoy all your meals.

    Day 7  :  horombo hut to marangu gate to moshi


    On your last day of Kilimanjaro trekking, a 6-hour journey covering about 27 km through low alpine and Montana forest zones begins after a hearty breakfast at Horombo hut, passing Mandara hut on your descent to Marangu gate where you'll enjoy a brief lunch break, sign the register book to receive either a green certificate for Gillman's Point or a gold certificate for Uhuru Peak, celebrate with singing and dancing either at Horombo hut or the gate, and finally, your driver awaits to take you back to your Planet Lodge in Arusha for a well-deserved hot shower before you can choose to head to the airport for your flight home or have dinner and an overnight stay.
