Day 1  :  Begin Hiking Kilimanjaro From Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Camp

The journey kicks off with an early start, as you savor a hearty breakfast before receiving a comprehensive briefing from your experienced guide. At precisely 9 am, our dedicated team will whisk you away from your cozy Moshi hotel for an hour-long drive to the picturesque Umbwe Village. Here, amidst the tranquility of the village, your skilled guides and porters will meticulously prepare your gear and provisions. Your official entry into Kilimanjaro Park will be sealed at this point, and you'll be handed your much-anticipated lunch pack. As you stride forward from the Umbwe Gate, you'll initially tread along a narrow vehicle path until you're greeted by the unmistakable Umbwe Trail signage. Over the course of 5-6 hours, you'll make your way through a lush rainforest, where colossal fig trees and resilient rubber trees entwine the path. These arboreal giants, though sometimes slick, prove to be reliable footholds when the trail turns muddied after rainfall. Nestled within this verdant f

Your path unfurls steeply through vanishing rainforest clearings before transitioning into the arid embrace of Giant Erica and Heathland terrain, where the vegetation becomes sparse, adorned only with small shrubs. Soon, you'll traverse an exposed ridge, which, if the skies have cleared, will gift you with your first glimpse of Uhuru Peak. Post-lunch, your journey leads you into semi-desert terrain, as you traverse a garden of enigmatic Senecio plants, peculiarly reminiscent of prehistoric cacti. Finally, you'll reach the Barranco Camp, where your devoted porters will prepare refreshing drinking and washing water before serving a satisfying dinner. As the day winds down, you'll be treated to one of the most unforgettable sunsets, painting the sky as the sun gracefully descends into the valley. Stay

The most challenging day of your journey has arrived – Summit Day! Commencing at 11:30 PM, you'll awaken to the comforting aroma of tea or coffee and a serving of biscuits, fortifying you for the arduous climb ahead. Over six strenuous hours, you'll navigate treacherous scree slopes, weaving through a series of switchbacks between the Ratzel and Rebmann glaciers, until you reach Stella Point (18,650 ft/5,685 m). Depending on your pace, you might be blessed with a breathtaking sunrise during your brief respite at Stella Point. However, despite your fatigue, it's crucial to keep moving due to the unforgiving cold. At Stella Point, you'll merge with the final stretch of the Marangu Route, trekking along the rim for another 1-2 hours until you reach your ultimate goal – Uhuru Peak.
