Day 1  :  Starting Hiking Adventure from Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Camp

Once you arrive at Umbwe Gate, take a moment to breathe in the anticipation while our team registers your hike and makes the final preparations for the trek ahead. Today's destination is Cave Bivouac Camp, a challenging ascent that will take approximately 6 hours. Be prepared for a steep and occasionally slippery trail as you traverse through Kilimanjaro's enchanting cloud forest, where moss-draped trees create an otherworldly atmosphere. As you gain altitude, the forest will gradually thin out, giving way to a landscape adorned with heathers, tall grasses, and wildflowers. Our dedicated porters and cooks will forge ahead to ensure the camp is ready for your well-deserved arrival. On the third day of your journey, you'll continue your ascent from Cave Bivouac Camp to Barranco Camp. The initial leg of the trail follows the ridge, providing breathtaking vistas. After emerging from the remaining forested area, the path meanders through expansive moorlands until you reach the picturesque Barranco Camp. Nestled in a valley, Barranco is renowned for its stunning scenery, surrounded by towering senecios and lobelias. Due to its location, the sun graces this camp a bit later than the others, offering a unique experience. Day 5  :  Journey to Barafu Camp

Following a hearty breakfast, embark on the trail to Barafu Camp. Along the way, you'll catch sight of several of Kibo's glaciers, as well as the junction connecting the descent route, Mweka, with the Machame trail. The route to Barafu passes through an alpine desert, offering little vegetation, yet the camp itself rewards you with stunning views of the majestic Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Rest is paramount tonight, as you'll rise before midnight for the final ascent to the summit. Day 6  :  The Summit and Descent

Around midnight, embark on the ultimate ascent to Uhuru Peak, navigating by the light of your headlamp for the next six hours. The journey to the crater rim is the most arduous segment of your trek, characterized by a steep incline until you reach Stella Point. From there, the path to Uhuru Peak becomes more gradual, although the altitude still makes it a demanding endeavor. The hike along the crater rim takes roughly an hour, and upon reaching Uhuru, capture unforgettable moments with your guide and fellow trekkers before embarking on the descent to Mweka Camp. As you descend from Uhuru, relish spectacular vistas of the mountain, its crater, swirling clouds, and icy glaciers. At Barafu Camp, enjoy a well-deserved breakfast and a brief respite, for you still have another three to five hours ahead of you before reaching Mweka Camp.
