Day 1: Moshi Rongai Gate - Simba Camp
Embarking on the Rongai Route, you start at Moshi and reach the Rongai Gate. The trek takes you through dense forests, offering a glimpse of the unique flora and fauna of the region. You will cover a distance of approximately 8 km, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C.

Today’s journey covers about 15 km, leading you to the Second Cave. As you ascend, the landscape transforms, revealing stunning vistas. Temperatures may drop to around 10°C, and the trek takes approximately 6-7 hours.

Day 3: Second Cave - Kikelewa Cave
The trek to Kikelewa Cave covers around 10 km, with a duration of 6-7 hours. This leg introduces you to the alpine desert, marked by unique rock formations. Expect temperatures between 5°C and 15°C.

Day 4: Kikelewa Cave - Mawenzi Tarn
Your path winds through the Kilimanjaro wilderness, reaching Mawenzi Tarn after a 5-6 hour, 8 km trek. The landscape transitions to a spectacular high-altitude desert, with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 10°C.

Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn Kibo Hut Uhuru Peak - Horombo Hut
The most challenging day sees you ascend to the summit at Uhuru Peak. Starting at Mawenzi Tarn, you traverse to Kibo Hut and ascend to Uhuru Peak. The day covers approximately 22 km, lasting 11-15 hours. Brace for sub-zero temperatures as you conquer the summit before descending to Horombo Hut.

Day 6: Kibo Hut Uhuru Peak - Back to Horombo Hut
Descending from the summit, you will cover approximately 27 km over 11-15 hours, passing through Kibo Hut and back to Horombo Hut. The varied terrain and the satisfaction of conquering Uhuru Peak accompany you.

Day 7: Horombo Hut - Mandara Hut - Marangu Gate - Back to Moshi/Arusha
