Day 1  :  Begin to trek from, NALEMORU GATE – SIMBA CAMP

As we begin our trek up to Simba Camp, we are struck by the beauty of the rainforest around us. The air is filled with the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves, and the ground is covered in a lush carpet of green. The trail is moderate, with a few steep inclines and declines. Our guides are patient and encourage us to take our time, reminding us to rest when we need to and drink plenty of water. As we approach Simba Camp, we are greeted by the sight of a beautiful campground nestled in a clearing. The tents are set up, and our guides are busy preparing dinner. The aroma of freshly cooked food fills the air, and we are all famished after our long trek. After a hot meal and a chance to rest, we gather around the campfire for a briefing about the next day's ascent.

Day 2  :  Continue trekking from, SIMBA CAMP- SECOND CAVE

The trail is steep and rocky, and we trek steadily, our breaths coming in short gasps as we push ourselves to the limit. The moorland habitat is stark and barren, with little vegetation to break up the landscape. But despite the difficulty of the trail, we are motivated by the stunning views of Kibo Volcano looming above us. We stop frequently to catch our breath and take in the breath-taking panorama of the surrounding peaks. As we approach second cave, we are greeted by a small group of porters and guides who are waiting to set up camp. We are shown to our tents, which are nestled in a small clearing, surrounded by the rugged beauty of the moorland. After a quick lunch, we take a well-deserved rest and enjoy the peace and quiet of the high altitude wilderness.

Day 3  :  SECOND CAVE TO THIRD CAVE, 3rd day of 6 days Kilimanjaro trekking

As we begin our ascent towards second cave, we are greeted by the vast expanse of the Alpine Desert, a stark contrast to the lush vegetation we left behind. The trail is a steep incline, requiring us to use our hands as well as our feet to navigate the rocky terrain. As we exit the heath zone and enter the Alpine Desert, the landscape changes dramatically. The vegetation becomes sparse and the rocks become more prominent. We can see the jagged peaks of Mawenzi towering above us, a stark reminder of the challenges that lie ahead. Our camp at third cave is situated in a stunning location, with the tarn reflecting the surrounding peaks like a mirror. We can see the glaciers that cover the surrounding mountains, a stark reminder of the effects of climate change.

Day 4  :  THIRD CAVE trek up TO KIBO HUT

As we begin our ascent towards third cave, the landscape changes drastically, giving way to a rocky semi-desert. The trail is rocky and uneven, requiring us to use our hands as well as our feet to navigate the terrain. The sun beats down relentlessly on our heads, and the air is thin and cold. We can see the summit of Kilimanjaro in the distance, a distant but tantalizing prize. We push ourselves to keep going, knowing that every step brings us closer to our goal. As we reach School Hut Camp, we are exhausted but elated. We have made significant progress towards the summit, and we can see the beauty of the surrounding landscape. We set up our tents and take a much-needed rest, preparing ourselves for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak.

Day 5  :  KIBO HUT – UHURU PEAK TO HOROMBO HUT, trekking Kilimanjaro

The air is crisp and cool as we begin our ascent towards the summit of Kilimanjaro. The trail is steep and rocky, and we trek steadily, our breaths coming in short gasps as we push ourselves to the limit. But the view from the top is worth every ounce of effort. As we reach the arctic habitat of the summit. The sun is starting to rise, casting a golden light over the landscape below, and we are rewarded with a stunning view of the sunrise over Mawenzi Peak. We stop to take photos and savour the moment, knowing that this is the most mentally and physically challenging part of our journey. As we make our way down the mountain, we are filled with a sense of accomplishment and pride. We have trekked the highest peak in Africa, and we have done it together. We stop for a final dinner on the mountain, enjoying a well-earned meal and a chance to rest and recuperate before the final descent to Horombo Hut for overnight.

Day 6  :  Finally trekking from, HOROMBO HUT TO MARANGU GATE

As we begin our final day of the trek, we are filled with a mix of emotions - excitement to finish the journey, sadness at saying goodbye to the beautiful landscape we have encountered, and a sense of accomplishment for having reached the summit of Kilimanjaro. The trail takes us through the lush rainforest, where the air is thick and humid, and the sounds of birds and animals fill the air. As we approach the end of the trek, we take a moment to appreciate the journey we have been on. We reflect on the challenges we have faced, the friendships we have made, and the incredible experience of standing on the summit of Africa's highest peak. Eventually, we reach the Marangu gate, where we collect our summit certificates and say goodbye to the porters and guides who have been with us every step of the way. A vehicle is waiting to take us back to the hotel, where we can relax and celebrate our accomplishment with a warm shower and a good meal.
