Day 6  :  Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp - Conquering the Summit

In the early hours, around midnight, we embark on the most mentally and physically demanding leg of our journey—the push to the summit. The relentless ascent through darkness, accompanied by biting winds and frigid temperatures, tests our determination. With frequent but brief breaks, we ascend towards Stella Point (18,900 feet), where a breathtaking sunrise over Mawenzi Peak rewards our efforts. Finally, we reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the entire African continent. From the summit, our descent leads us straight to the Mweka Hut campsite, with a stop at Barafu for lunch. The trail is rugged and challenging on the knees, making trekking poles quite helpful. Mweka Camp, situated in the upper forest, often welcomes mist or rain in the late afternoon. In the evening, we savor our final dinner on the mountain before a well-deserved rest

Day 7  :  Descending from Mweka Camp to Moshi - Completing the Journey

On our last day, we continue our descent, eventually reaching Mweka Gate to collect our summit certificates. At lower elevations, the terrain may become wet and muddy. From the gate, we trek for another hour to Mweka Village, where a vehicle awaits to transport us back to our hotel in Moshi, marking the triumphant conclusion of our Kilimanjaro adventure.
