We depart from Moshi and drive to Londorossi Gate for entry formalities. From there, we start hiking through the rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp. It's a 3–4-hour hiking with an elevation gain from 7,742 ft to 9,498 ft. Expect lush vegetation and possible wildlife sightings.

    Day 2  :  Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

    We continue through a savannah landscape, crossing streams and ascending to the Shira Ridge. From there, we descend to Shira 1 Camp, offering the first view of Kibo Peak. The hike takes around 5-6 hours, covering a distance of 8 km and reaching an elevation of 11,500 ft.

    We begin by hiking up a ridge and heading towards the impressive Lava Tower. Afterward, we descend to Barranco Camp through the unique Senecio Forest. This day helps with acclimatization, with an elevation gain to 15,190 ft and then descent to 13,044 ft.
