We start the day by descending into the Great Barranco, a massive ravine. Steeply hiking the Great Barranco Wall, we cross over to the southeastern slopes of Kibo. The hike is not technical but is long and tiring. Passing beneath the Heim and Kersten glaciers, we head towards the Karanga valley. For those feeling strong, there's an optional mid-afternoon acclimatization hiki up to around 4200m. Then we descend back tobarafu camp for the night. Witness spectacular views from the crater rim at Stella Point (5739m) as the sun rises. Marvel at the ice cliffs and panoramic vistas. Reach the summit, Uhuru Peak (5895m), after another hour's walk. Descend to Stella Point and return to Barafu Camp for breakfast. Finally, head down to Millennium Camp for a well-deserved rest.
