We'll brief you about the hike and check your gear before starting. A 1-hour drive takes us to Umbwe Gate for registration and the hike begins. The rainforest hike leads to Umbwe Cave Camp at 2850 meters, with breathtaking tropical flora. The narrow, steep paths lead to the Cave Camp near two fascinating caves.

    Day 2 : UMBWE CAVE CAMP MT KILIMANJARO TO BARRANCO CAMP


    Hiking Time: 4-5 hours, 6km/4 miles After breakfast, we leave the forest glades for rockier terrain and catch a glimpse of Kilimanjaro. The trail opens to moorland with tall grass, leading to Barranco valley. We ascend to Barranco Camp at 4000 meters, where we'll set up camp and spend the night.

    Day 3 : LEAVING BARRANCO CAMP TO KARANGA CAMP


    Hiking Time: 3-4 hours, 5km/3 miles We leave Barranco Camp and ascend the steep Barranco Wall at 4250 meters, taking around 1.5 hours to reach the top. Then, we hike across a more level terrain and descend into the Karanga Valley at 4050 meters. At the junction with the Mweka Trail, we continue towards Karanga Camp, where we'll spend the night.

    Day 4 : HIKING KILIMANJARO FROM KARANGA CAMP TO BARAFU CAMP


    Hiking Time: 3-4 hours, 4km/2 miles We proceed to Barafu Camp at 4700 meters, completing the South Circuit with stunning views of the summit and glaciers from various angles. At Barafu Camp, we set up camp and prepare for the summit hike.

    Day 5 : BARAFU CAMP TO MWEKA CAMP KILIMANJARO UP TO SUMMIT


    At around 2 am, we start the challenging hike to Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Kilimanjaro and Africa. It takes 5-7 hours to reach the summit, ascending through scree towards Stella Point on the crater rim. The hike is done in the dark with a headlamp, and the last hour may have snow. Once at Uhuru Peak (5895 meters), you've reached the summit! After a brief stop, we begin our descent to Mweka Camp, about 5-6 hours away, where we spend the night.

    Hiking Time: 3-4 hours, 10km/6 miles After breakfast at 3090 meters, we continue our descent to the Mweka Park Gate to receive summit certificates. Our vehicle will be ready to take you back to your hotel.
